FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT MY HOMETOWN/COUNTRY:
Some of my favorite things about my hometown/country would have to be the food, culture, scenery and music to begin with. I must say I enjoy Bahamian meals, no other food can make me feel the way Bahamian cooking can. The music makes my soul move and the culture is rich. In some countries you cannot see the stars or the moon but in my country they shine brightly at night while the island breeze feels as though it is healing the soul. I love the blue sky and the way the sun energizes me. I admire the way fruits, vegetables, flowers and trees can naturally grow fruitfully in our soils and I must make note of the way we come together in celebration of junkanoo which depicts our culture. The most amazing thing of all is that if you close your eyes and picture what I have mentioned, to most it draws a magazine photo in your mind that seems surreal, but for many of us it is our home.
Ambition is the fuel to my fire to become Miss Bahamas Universe 2012. I know where I have come from and where I am on my way to. I have visualized it, now I am on the way to it. My ambitions come from my passion. Ambition takes more energy than setting a goal; it is the driving force behind your actions towards a goal. My ambitions are to make a difference amongst animals, nature, men, women and the children of today. I have ambition towards becoming a successful role model and a personal assistant for the universe.
My hobbies include volleyball, modeling, dancing, and dolphin/animal training.
MY GOALS IN LIFE:
Since the age of ten I have had one main goal, that goal is to become Miss Bahamas Universe and represent The Bahamas at The Miss Universe Pageant. Therefore I am on the correct track in my life to perusing this purpose. When this goal is completed I have another goal to achieve which is helping children learn how to use their mind wisely and find their purpose in life the way I followed mine. I have a goal to help stray/hurt animals and experience other marine life facilities such as the one I work with now. Alongside all of these things, the underlying goal I have had for my life thus far has been to make my mother proud because she believes in me the way I believe in myself.
MY BEST ASSET IS:
My best asset must be my ability to learn quickly.
MY DAILY PHILOSOPHY IS:
My thoughts create my melody. If you do not understand it, it basically means that whatsoever you think about and focus on you will attract into your life.
THE MOVIE (AND/OR BOOK) THAT MOST INFLUENCED MY LIFE:
The move that has most influenced my life is The Secret. If you have not seen it yet, go watch it!
WHO I WOULD LIKE TO MEET AND WHY
I cannot put a name on the person I would like to meet because I do not believe I have met them as yet. The person I would like to meet is that person in my life that will help me reach my purpose in life. I believe that most connections are through people and when you meet a particular person the correct doors can be opened. When I meet this person, I will know this is the individual I am supposed to meet to reach my goal.
I AM MOTIVATED BY:
I am motivated by my ambition. I am motivated by the faith my mother has in me succeeding. Knowing I must find my purpose and passion in life and not become complacent amongst the crowd. I desire to stand out and make a change. I am motivated to break out of the everyday repetitive cycle we most are a victim of. I am motivated by the very thought of being able to make a difference and share the knowledge I hold. I am motivated by my everyday life because it revolves around all of my passions. I am motivated by the unique experiences and individuals I encounter. I am motivated by the dolphins I work with, my two dogs and cat I have built a relationship with, but, most of all by the hundreds of people I meet every week.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE THE JUDGES TO KNOW ABOUT ME IS:
I am wise for my age. I am open-minded. I am a determined young woman and I am content in my own skin. I have a weakness, better disguised as passion for animals and children. I am down to earth and I want to show that it is possible to be you, be an ambassador and make a difference. When I see something I want, I go for it and obstacles only make the end of the journey, that much sweeter. I love to laugh and smile, if I am not then something is wrong. I am a quick learner; I have self-discipline and high endurance. I have thick skin but I am in touch with my emotions as well. I am a loving person whose intentions are always harmless. I meet hundreds of people a week and the idea of meeting new people everyday intrigues me. I have a love for the universe that most people do not. My fun-loving spirit believes in only positivity. I enjoy making everybody around me laugh; I believe that laughter is healing to the soul.
MY COMMUNITY SERVICE/ACHIEVEMENTS ARE:
I have been doing community service since grade nine. It began with the Governor General’s Youth Award. GGYA helped me to understand what community service was. I began with helping to clean the Ranfurly home on more than one occasion. Starting the day with raking leaves, which lead to mopping and sweeping. I then went on to volunteer at a daycare center during my school holidays where I built relationships with the children. During Miss Teen Bahamas we had an all-day South Beach clean-up competition. We also went to the Ranfurly home during the pageant and conducted make-overs, had talks with the young ladies and gave a catwalk session. I volunteered to walk in a fashion show, “Fashion for a Cause” which is a HIV/AIDS fund raiser. The facility I work with raises proceeds every day for the marine life of The Bahamas as well as field trips and tours are given as educational opportunities.
DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN THREE WORDS:
I am Positive, Reliable and Energetic.
